Serpulix SEO (Shopify) — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Serpulix (“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the Serpulix SEO app for Shopify (the “App”). The App is a connector to the Serpulix content platform (“Serpulix Platform”). Use of the Serpulix Platform is also governed by our general Privacy Policy.

1. Information we collect

When you install and use the App, we process:

  • Your store’s myshopify.com domain.
  • An offline access token issued by Shopify, used to publish content to your store on your behalf. It is stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM).
  • Content metadata for articles and pages you generate in the Serpulix Platform and choose to publish to your store — titles, publish status, and public URLs.

We do not request or store your Shopify customers’ personal information, order data, or payment information. The App requests only content and file scopes (write_content, read_content, write_files).

2. How we use information

  • To publish, update, and unpublish blog articles and pages on your store when you choose to.
  • To upload article images to your Shopify Files.
  • To display your Serpulix content and its publish status inside your Shopify admin.
  • To link your store to your Serpulix account so the right content is shown.

3. Sharing

We do not sell your information. The App shares data only with the Serpulix Platform (operated by the same company) to provide the service, and with Shopify via Shopify’s APIs. We do not share your data with unrelated third parties.

4. Data retention and deletion

  • When you uninstall the App, Shopify sends an app/uninstalled webhook; we delete the stored access token and install record for your store, and disable the connection.
  • We respond to Shopify’s mandatory data-request and redaction webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact,shop/redact). Because the App stores no Shopify customer personal data, customer data-request and redaction requests return no customer information to redact.

5. Security

Access tokens are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM). Access to your store is limited to the content and file operations described above. Requests from the embedded app are authenticated with Shopify session tokens.

6. International transfers / hosting

The App and Serpulix Platform are hosted on Amazon Web Services (United States, us-east-1).

7. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
